Luke D. Rosen

Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Luke D. Rosen began singing in preschool and elementary school. He was a member of the Cincinnati Children's Choir at the College Conservatory of Music for several years. He began studying piano, also at CCM, in the 5th grade.
He attended Elder High School (Class of 1997) in Cincinnati, and was a member of the Elder High School Glee Club and Vocal Ensemble. Throughout high school, he studied voice with Mary Alexander and piano with David F. Allen.
He received his Bachelor of Music (Choral Music Education) and Master of Music (Choral Conducting Performance) degrees from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. At Bowling Green, he also studied composition.
His instructors at BGSU include Christopher Scholl, Marilyn Shrude, Donald Wilson, Burton Beerman, Elainie Lillios, and Mark Munson.
He has served as the Director of Music Ministry at Corpus Christi University Parish, serving the Catholic community at the University of Toledo, since 2000.
He joined the faculty at St. John’s Jesuit High School & Academy in 2004, serving as Director of Choral and Liturgical Music and Director of the Fox Music Technology Lab.
A clinician for the Toledo chapter of National Pastoral Musicians, he has offered workshops on liturgical piano and piano improvisation. He was the first student representative to the Ohio Choral Directors Association state choral board. He was also an active member of the Toledo Masterworks Chorale from 2006-2013.
He writes frequently for the church, premiering many of his compositions at Corpus Christi, and is published by Oregon Catholic Press. Other composition premiers have taken place at St. John’s Jesuit, Bowling Green State University, and with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony Orchestra.
