Mary Crowe

Mary Crowe grew up singing folk songs and blues, influenced by Joan Baez, Nina Simone, Etta James and urban blues singers. As a Bennington College undergraduate she studied classical music and performance, eventually earning a Masters Degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Lesley University, including coursework with Ran Blake at New England Conservatory.

After a 15 year career in classical music, musical theater and opera, she decided to take the plunge into cabaret, jazz and blues. In 2009 she released her first CD "Mary Crowe Sings Cabaret" and backed by the Lincoln Hill Trio began performing in professional venues, including Ryles Jazz Club, Encore Lounge, Acton Jazz Cafe, Sherborn Inn, Indian Hill Music Center, Parish Center for the Arts and Amazing Things Arts Center, Boston Cabaret Festival and Ichabod's Cafe. She also performs regularly at Nourish Restaurant and the Java Room. In 2010 she released her second CD "Hit Me with a Hot Note". Her debut CD "Rebound" of original songs will be released in October of 2014.

In addition to performing, Mary is on the Voice Faculty at Indian Hill Music where she teaches voice as well as classes in acting and cabaret.
