As a guest of the Tonight Show, Mat has backed up k.d. Lang, The Back Street Boys, Tanya Tucker and Broadway productions of Wicked and Grease. Mat has arranged guitar and rhythm section for Nils Lofgren and Donna Summers appearances on the Tonight Show and had his vocal abilities featured on skits in styles ranging from REM to the Beatles, Steppenwolf and Bobby Troup. Mat's live and studio credits include work for:  BB King (infomercial), Lisa Loeb, Steve Alan, Tom Scott, Theodore Bikel, David Cassidy, The Beach Boys,  Melissa Manchester, Clint Holmes, Cab Calloway, Merv Griffin, Howey Mandel, Petula Clark, Mark Lindsay,  Ed Ames, Doug Cameron, Penn and Teller, MTV, VH1, Viacom, Comedy Central, SAG awards, Anaheim Angles, HBO, Showtime, On Demand, Direct TV, Academy Awards (pre record) and dozens of TV specials and sitcoms.

 Mat is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts with studies in guitar, composition, Indian music, African music, film and mid century Japanese Cinema. He attended classes at Dick Groves Music Workshop's and College of the Siskiyous under the direction of vocal Jazz luminary Kirby Shaw.
