Matt Millecchia

Matt Millecchia was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. He began playing guitar at age 14, and almost immediately began writing music and performing live. His musical projects have varied greatly from punk, metal, and folk to theatrical compositions and solo performances. He has graced stages from CBGBs to the Lilac Festival and performed with acts as varied as Urge Overkill and the Erie Saxophone Quartet.

In 2007, Matt came into contact with Will Ackerman, who was one of Matt’s major influences and founder of the groundbreaking new age label, Windham Hill Records. After hearing Matt’s music for the first time, Mr. Ackerman was immediately interested in producing an album for him. A recording start date was set and musicians were lined up to join Matt on the album. The album was to be a combination of Matt’s solo pieces and his pieces played with accompaniment. The lineup of musicians to join Matt was a veritable star list: Will Ackerman (Grammy Award winning songwriter), T-Bone Wolk (Saturday Night Live Band, Carly Simon, Elvis Costello, Hall and Oates), Michael Manring (Grammy Award nominated bassist), Jimmy Gordon (Jerry Lee Lewis, Bonnie Raitt), Eugene Friesen (Grammy Award winner), Jeff Oster (2007 NAR New Age Album of the Year), Steve Schuch, Samite and Derrik Jordan. The album was produced by Will Ackerman and was recorded, mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer, Corin Nelsen. This album, entitled “Silhouette of a Season”, was released December, 15 2008.
