Pan Galactic

Scott Fray and I met in the 90’s at an advertising agency just outside of Greensboro, North Carolina. During the seemingly endless nights we worked to meet ridiculous morning deadlines, we discovered that we shared many of the same interests, including Mythology, Cosmology, and the art of Roger Dean. More importantly, we found that we shared a love for the same bands: Yes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Genesis, and The Beatles. We really appreciated the complex sonic landscapes created by these musicians, and so we set out to create some worlds of our own.

We chose the name ‘Pan Galactic’ as we felt that the half-pagan, half-celestial moniker not only spoke to our eclectic spiritual nature, but also gave us the creative license to make music that 1) blended a broad range of musical styles, 2) covered topics ranging from primal to sacred, and 3) had sonic textures that spoke of both the past and the future.

Our album ‘Mother’s Milk’ is the result of nearly fifteen years of writing, recording, and editing. We believe the lyrics to be soulful, clever, and humorous. Our music is a blend of World instruments fused with Symphonic and Rock elements, with a wide variety of stylistic mash-ups. It’s seventy-four minutes of deeply layered arrangements, witty double-entendre, and brilliant solo performances. Enjoy.
