Paul Sachs

Paul Sachs writes lyrical and gritty acoustic/folk songs. Real working man's music with sidewalks and subway dirt thrown in. He was born and raised in New York City and that's where he draws most of his material. Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Springsteen are the songwriters that influenced him, and pushed him into the folk music circles of the city. One of his songs was eventually selected for inclusion in the Smithsonian Fast Folk collection. Sachs still lives in NYC, performing in various venues around the city. He has recorded four independent albums, featuring often raw and seeringly personal songs of life and love on the mean streets. His fingerstyle guitar work and powerful voice combine to create mesmerizing vignettes. He just released his 4th CD, "Oil Town" in ’11 and in this same year he performed as an emerging artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
