Pretty Little Demons

"I have always been a singer, a writer, and a musician, not as a prodigy or as in a trade handed to me by my parents, but because of an inner voice or maybe a command from beyond reality as it is usually defined." - Frank Black

Pretty Little Demons is what happens when two seasoned pros get together to form a band. It just so happens these girls aren't even in high school yet. Lydia Night(13) and Marlhy Murphy(11) met at School of Rock North Hollywood during a 2012 spring break camp. Lydia Night(Solo, Dead Man's Bones) had been singing, songwriting and playing guitar for 6 years. Marlhy Murphy(We're Not Dudes, Zeppos) was already one of the best young drummers in the country at just 9.

Not interested in just playing covers or only playing only their own instruments, both girls are talented songwriters and multi-intrumentalists who continue to work hard on their craft. With that kind of work ethic and infectious song writing, the girls became the youngest ever band to officially be invited to play SXSW in 2013 and was asked to have their record release show at Amoeba Music in Hollywood where Exene Cervenka of X and Brett Anderson of the Donnas sat in with them.

In April 2014 Pretty Little Demons release their first full length record, Unknown Species. Lydia's dad, music video director Morgan Higby Night, has enlisted the likes of Alison Mosshart(Dead Weather, The Kills), Catherine E. Coulson(The Log Lady), and The Ettes for cameos in their Twin Peaks themed video for the title track.

This summer will mark Pretty Little Demons' first tour, performing at several Girls Rock Camps and club shows as they hope to inspire other girls to join their army of young rockers and start their own bands. The tour finishes with the girls playing the Lollapalooza kids stage in Chicago.

Although they have played several festivals including LA's Lobster Fest and Chinese New Year's Festival for year of the horse, they intend to make 2014 Year of the Demon!
