Prynce P

Founded by featured artist and CEO, Prynce P, Pohectic Life Records is a Dallas, TX independent hip-hop label. Pohectic consists of a diverse group of artists ranging from vocal hip-hop to production, engineering and development, providing dynamic sounds and skillz of old-school hip-hop with a new school twist.

In 2001, P, who was then living in the DC area, linked with Royal M, a fellow friend and well known DJ from Atlanta, collaborating on a production of one of M's songs. P along with their comrades Hoffa and Kou added their vocals to the mix and before long, what started as a night of fun and play ended with the single “Persian Thoughts”, leading to over 100,000 downloads, planting the seed for Pohectic Life to come.

The label has since sold out shows in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta and although the label has seen artists come and go, it still continues to flourish and grow on the music scene. In March of 2009, with the help of fellow producers Fez, Latti, DJ Dimorphic and many others, Pohectic released their long awaited compilation album entitled Pohectic: The Second Chapter. The album was mastered by Grammy award winner Brian 'Big Bass' Gardner well known for his work on albums for Eminem, Dre, 50, Pac, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park as well as many others. And with that, in just three short months, they sold over 7,700 downloads worldwide making them the most successful Persian owned hip hop label.

The Second Chapter featured 25 talented artist and producers including, Nutt-So of 2 Pac's, The Outlawz; the Kings of Dallas, Mr. Pookie & Mr. Lucci of Stoney Crook Records; H-Town Legends K-Rino & Point Blank of South Park Coalition, along with DF-Dubs Free Style King, the host of 97.9 the beat, HeadKrack. Their song “D.F.W.” which featured local Dallas stars, Mr. Pookie & Mr. Lucci was played on the local radio station along with Dallas premiere night clubs leading to over 160,000 hits on Pohectics Official Myspace Page.

After the success of their first album, P decided to start working on singles with many of his artists as well as many well-known artists collaborating with one of his all-time favorite rappers, Hip-Hop legend, Spice 1. In 2010, they recorded their summer hit entitled “My Gift N Curse” which featured the smooth voice of J Sabin, produced by Latti. In just 3 short months, the song had over 10,000 downloads on iTunes.

Since then, P has been working on a few multi language tracks, stretching the Pohectic flavor. In the summer of 2010, after releasing “My Gift N Curse”, he recorded a song named “Donyaeh Tareek” (Dark World), with Persian rapper, Khoffash and J Sabin. It has since surpassed 138,000 downloads in its first 6 months. After the release of Donyaeh Tareek, P decided to start recording again and released two new multi-language tracks named “Still Smiling” featuring Persian Artist Dr. K. Ok and T-Rawn (D.Rains). The first track was downloaded over 80,000 times in 2 months and his second single, entitled “Ageh To Bargardi” (If You Come Back), featuring Ali Sonami and Sahand Quazi, received over 100,000 downloads in just 2 weeks, making it the most successful track that P has ever done.

On October 4th, 2011, Prynce P released yet another hit called "In The End" featuring platinum artist, Lil Flip making P the first Persian American to ever collaborate with a platinum rapper. After taking a short break from music to focus on other business and travels, P returned with his latest single entitled "My Paradise" which was released on January 21st, 2013 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. This single was also released with an official music video which was directed by JT Barnett. It quickly racked up 14,000 views in just 3 days and on May 4th, 2013, he was asked by Congress Woman Johnson and her team to perform the song live in front of a selective audience. On May 13th, P received a call from JKruz of 97.9 The Beat asking him to come to the radio station for an in-house interview as they wanted to premier his single "My Gift N Curse." P accepted the invite and had his interview on May 15th which was filmed and edited by Crazie TV and released on May 21st. P is currently in the studio working with Bizzy Bone of Grammy award winning group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on a new single which will be released in the summer of 2013.
