Ramblin' Wayn

Ramblin Wayn was born in an old city Maestricht in south of the Netherlands, grew up with rock 'n roll and started singing at the age of nine banging on a cardboard box to accompany his voice... starde listening to country & western in the early 60ties Buck Owens, Merle haggard, Marty Robbins, Porter Wagoner, Charley Pride, Hank Snow, Lefty Frizell, Cowboy Copas, Hank Williams... on the other side Lester Flatt and Earl Scrugss, Jimmy Rodgers, Carter family and Bill Monroe .... he started playing the guitar and in the mid 60ties get involved with the sound of Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare, Tom T Hall and Johnny Cash... The 70ties ( 1970 wrote his first song 'He's to young' a protest against the Vietnam war and 'The accident that left hem blind' a sad tearjerker...he listened to Doc Watson one his all time favorites, to old time fiddlers like Clark Kessinger, bluegrass and cajun like Doug Kershaw... He was the loner at that time, a drifter at a never ending road.. hard to find company to play with... he wrote more songs and 'Train' 1975 a song about life which was too fast rolling was his standard, later came 'Texas Woman' "Ride, ride, ride' and Stay In the Saddle'... mid 70thies the music of Billy Joe Shaver, Butch Hancock and David Allen Coe left a imprint on his sound... In 1981 he formed the band 'Ramblin Wayn and the Rodeo Clowns' a cynical name unlike the music they played quite influenced by country-rock-blues, or the 'outlaw' sound... but anyhow he attempted to produced his own sound...
He wrote many songs during that 1990 when travelin' raided his thoughts and emotions he made long trips to Brazil where the influences of the music gave him a boost and brought something new in his music...
