Learning from his uncle and cousin, Ray also had an interest in recording and began working in Studios in Vancouver as a gopher. Learning the craft of recording on old analogue tape machines.
Within the first year of playing Ray wrote and recorded his first four song EP entitled Knight Child. It was a rock album with Singer Jamie Nicholson. Ray recorded about a dozen local bands Demos.
When the nineties hit Ray and Gerry formed a band called Tenacity and started gaining attention overseas in Germany. Recorded the first Tenacity album that was released in Canada independently and on Long Island Records in Germany. The record had an eighties sound to it.
The second Tenacity album “Broken Silence” had more of an alternative rock feel that sold well independently in Canada The song “Broken Silence” went to #2 in South Africa, They toured South Africa and Canada.
