Rick Harris

Rick Harris was a former lead singer with Rob Base and is known for his vocals on the Rob Base hit single "Turn It Out." Rick is an accomplished musician with professional skills on guitar, piano, and percussion. Rick has won several Apollo Theater competitions and has toured with many bands and music artists across the USA and the World.

Ever since Rick was a child, music has been in his soul. He was known around his community in urban Petersburg, Virginia as the singer who did concerts in his backyard with his brother James the "robot" drummer, while the neighborhood kids would attend.

Rick gathers many inspirations from artists like George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham, Stevie Wonder, Parliament Funkadelic, The Gap Band, Earth, Wind and Fire, Prince, Michael Jackson, Sting, Seal, John Legend, and many more.

Rick has composed hundreds of songs over the years, but he has chosen to begin his debut EP with an assortment of tracks near and dear to his heart. As a proud father, he has much love for all of his children, but he only has one daughter, Ebony. He has dedicated this first collection of released tracks entitled, "The Ebony EP" to her.

Rick has much in the realm of music to offer to the world. He recently started a micro-talk series on YouTube where he shares his life stories and anecdotes with the world on different topics that are popular today. He has mastered his style of "guitar talk" which allows him to converse freely while maintaining rhythm with his guitar, as he shares his perspective on topics discussed. He is looking forward to providing the "feel good" music of the past and bringing a modern flavor that avid music lovers will appreciate.
