Rosie Frater-Taylor

Emerging songwriter, jazz guitarist, ukuleleist, vocalist Rosie Frater-Taylor is ‘One To Watch in 2019’ (Jazzwise). Debut album On My Mind “a delicious jazz and folk amalgam”, recently broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio London & Jazz FM, has garnered praise from, among others, US songstress Becca Stevens “So. Good.”, artist Declan Mckenna and Abbie McCarthy (BBC Radio 1) “complex, jazzy, smooth, delicate” jazz vocalist Ian Shaw “superb, surprising & highly enjoyable” and Led Zeppelin guitar icon Jimmy Page “such a connection with the guitar”.

On My Mind expresses Rosie’s stylistically adventurous approach to pop songwriting. A mature collection of songs demonstrating her natural affinity with the guitar and love of multi-layered acoustic soundscapes. Close vocal harmonies amidst "strange, knowing changes & strong sure melodies" conjure up the sounds of Joni Mitchell, Gretchen Parlato, Becca Stevens, Emily King, Olivia Chaney, Pat Metheny, Lionel Loueke & George Benson.

Self-taught for a number of years, Rosie currently attends the four-year jazz degree course at London’s Royal Academy of Music. "Rosie is without a doubt one of the youngest and most talented voices and guitar players on the UK music scene... At 20 she is creating her own sweet unique sound influenced by folk and singer-songwriter vibes but grounded in her virtuoso jazz background." Patricia Pascal, JazzNewBlood.

Currently musing her second album, “expect big things from this female force”
