Royal Wade Kimes (The Gentleman Outlaw)

Royal Wade Kimes Bio
“The Gentleman Outlaw” Royal Wade Kimes was born a cowboy riding the rugged Boston Mountain Range along the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma. He is the last cowboy of the last generation to do so. When the range closed down, he packed his guitar and left for Nashville.
Kimes started his music career as a songwriter. His endeavors garnered platinum and gold records from the likes of Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio, Gene Watson and others.
Once established as a songsmith, his mentor, the late and legendary Eddy Arnold eased him into another entertainment arena, performing. Kimes smooth as honey voice caught everyone’s attention right away, and he was signed at Asylum Records. He would enjoy several hit singles before leaving the label to pursue his passion, “Cowboy Country.” Kimes immediately had one hit after another in the Cowboy Country arena and once established, he and his friend Garth Brooks teamed up on a duet, “Nightbirds” which was a No. 1 hit for several weeks.
American Profile featured Royal Wade Kimes in their Sunday Edition insert, and Editor and Chief Neil Pond called his show one of the best he had heard or seen.
Awards: Kimes has won two Will Rogers Awards, and was named top musician of the year by True West Magazine. Best Tradition Album of the Year, XM Radio American Channel named his record “Strikin’ Matches” the top most requested album of the year.
Concerts: Kimes tours around the world and has enjoyed many number one International hits. His audiences have ranged from a room of 50 to concert arenas of 35,000… and all age groups.
Television: Kimes is the founder of Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association which aired its first awards show on RFD and Cox into 20 million homes on November 12th, 2017. He starred in a film, “Dixie Burns” a thirty-minute musical which aired on Dish Network, Comcast and other outlets. Kimes has had numerous top videos “Cold Country, Another Man’s Sky, 500 Miles” and his 2016 video release “Healer of Hearts” was a hit both here and abroad on YouTube.
Records: The album “Shadows Of Time” won Traditional Country Album of the year, voted by Roots Music Commission Board for 2016. His latest 2017 album, “Love of a Cowboy” has garnered two top 5 singles, “Cowboy On The Loose, Healer of Hearts” and a top ten “I’ll Leave The Leavin’ Up To You.”
And if all that wasn’t enough, while the singles climbed the chart, Garth Brooks releases his 2017/2018 Anthology which includes Royal Wade Kimes and the song “We Bury The Hatchet.”
Media: Kimes appeared on the front cover of True West Magazine, the only recording artist to do so in its history. It was after that story in True West Magazine, and the now late and legend James Arness of Gunsmoke reaching out to Kimes, industry leaders and fans alike began to call him “The Gentleman Outlaw.”
Magazines, Country Weekly, Nuts About Country, Country Countdown, and others have featured Kimes. He has appeared on the Grand Old Opry, stages of Performing Arts, State Fairs and many more venues of that nature.
Kimes does not need a band to hold an audience in their seats, his solo show is something quite special. His record producers call him a “feel singer,” a crooner with range, who transfers that emotion to his audience.
