Scott Hrabko

KC's own Scott Hrabko is a singer/songwriter who can trace his roots back to the fertile crescent of the local indie rock scene of the late '80s. It took him long enough, but he finally released his debut solo album, “Gone Places” in November, 2013 -- a set of funny and poignant songs of love and loss, scattered across the haunted American landscape. Less than a year later "Biscuits & Gravity" appeared, recorded with his fine band, The Rabbits. Hrabko's third album, and second with the Rabbits, entitled "Summer", was released in 2017, followed by "Smash Hits From A Parallel Universe" EP and several singles in 2019. The Rabbits have appeared at the Crossroads Music Fest, Folk Alliance International Conference at Crown Center and The Westport Roots Festival -- also featured as Live-in-studio on KKFI 90.1 FM programs, Mid-Day Medley, hosted by Mark Manning and River Trade Radio, hosted by Mikal Shapiro and Kasey Rausch, and his songs have been in heavy rotation on Chuck Haddix's legendary Fish Fry on KCUR 89.3 FM.

"Hrabko’s rootsy songs are filled with trap doors, hidden nooks, and secret passageways. They’re like those dreams within comfortably familiar houses that suddenly have brand new rooms." - Mike Warren, No Depression
