Shake Some Action!

Their sound is rooted in the Swinging London of 1966 - when pop was less American Idol and more Paperback Writer - but doesn't get caught up in played out nostalgia. As one reviewer noted "somehow they don't sound held to the same moody limitations of bands such as the Zombies, or Iron Butterfly... they sound more alive and dynamic."

Formed in 2006 by Australian-born, Seattle-based songwriter James Hall, Shake Some Action! began as a solo recording project:

"The year has just begun, and already the first knockout by an unknown band from out of left field has arrived" the Daily Breeze

morphed into a live band that rocked Bumbershoot in 2007:

"guitars and harmonies like this always sound so good" - Stephen Thomas Erlewine,

then transitioned once more into a largely solo recording project:

"This band just keeps getting better!" - Pop Geek Heaven

"a definite contender for best album in 2013." - Powerpopaholic

Along the journey, SSA! has developed a dedicated cult following, particularly in the US and Spain, and become critical darlings of the power pop world, each album seemingly bringing out more superlatives than the last. Strong radio support, especially from taste-makers KEXP Seattle, has only solidifed their growing fan base.
