SpiTune

SpiTune is a group of overaged children playing their own twisted brand of Rock and Roll and Americana (whatever the @*& THAT is), consisting of an assortment of originally twisted songs written by a bunch of guys who are definitely old enough to know better.

SpiTune is available for gigs in the Greater Philadelphia market. Also, in the Not-So-Greater Philadelphia market. Including but not limited to New Jersey, New York and New England. I mean, it'd have to pay pretty well to get us to drive too far. Plus, we'd need time to notify certain authorities and make arrangements and what-not, as the case may be. But if you are interested (and I can't imagine why you wouldn't be interested) contact us and we'll see what's what. BE WARNED!!! SpiTune is not for the faint of heart. It's original rock and roll with a not-quite-country twist. SpiTune's originals are in turns ridiculous, reflective, angry and funny, with a heaping helping of adult content

This year marks the 10th anniversary for SpiTune and the release of their first studio album. Appropriately entitled "About Time," the record has been a long time coming. But then again, it took a long time for the band to become what it is today. What started off as what rhythm guitarist and singer Fred Moore describes as "a bluegrass band with a rock ‘n' roll edge" has evolved over the years into a fully realized rock group with bluegrass influences. The lineup finally fell into place six years ago with the addition of Bill Fowler on electric guitar. Best known for his work with the Sound of Urchin and the Moistboyz (a Ween side project), Fowler was a bona fide rock guitarist and a friend of the band. With the band's core established, Moore, Fowler, bassist Mike Krimm and drummer Dave Haviland found their sound. "That's when we turned into a high-energy rock band with a country and bluegrass feel. This is the true SpiTune." says Moore.

Classified as "Americana" only because I had to choose a catagory, "About Time" is a somewhat random collection of 15 of Spitune's large catalogue of original songs, in no particular order. Recorded in the summer of 2008, and finished in the fall of 2009, it represents a cross section of the band's sound.
