Steven Larson

Active as an performer, improviser and composer, Steven Larson's work is devoted to a fusion of classical, new age and neoclassical styles combining a bravura virtuoso's freedom with a free spirit of sensitivity and freedom.

His original non-classical compositions, many released under the artistic name, STYVYN, span a vast range of styles, from classical, neoclassical, new age, experimental, and pop. Recent releases include five pieces of his Pianorams series, lengthy and free form cinematic-like improvisations as well as his Pianonymity album.

Steven Larson, also known as STYVYN, has appeared on five continents as soloist and collaborative artist, from London’s Wigmore Hall to the Melbourne, Australia International Festival and from Bilbao’s Teatro Arriaga to Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall in Athens, Greece. His wide classical repertoire focuses on the sonatas of Mozart, Haydn and Clementi, the 32 Sonatas and 5 Concertos of Beethoven, the Well-Tempered Clavier and Goldberg Variations of Bach, the B-Minor Sonata, Scherzo and March, and other major works of Liszt. His most recent classical album, Prologue, released on the Classical Masterworks label, consists of a 'dizzying array of virtuosic pieces for the piano' by Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Moszkowski, Granados, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff.
