SugaWack

Modern...Deeply Rooted...Timeless

Formed in 2012, SugaWack is a group of South Florida based musicians who play with or without various conventions, and with or without traditional instrumental roles, as they create spontaneous compositions, chamber pieces and audioscapes.
They blend the technical and the organic, the harmonic and the dissonant, the sacred and the profane, creating a hybrid of sound as each piece develops.

They often perform and record in various groupings of duos, trios and quartets. This keeps it fresh, and provides opportunities to more deeply explore their relationships and varying roles.

SugaWack has collaborated around Florida with members of the state's growing free improvisation scene, and they hope to get a few of them in the studio for subsequent projects. Some of these collaborations are posted on the band's SoundCloud page, and feature guitarist Tim Albro, bassist Doug Mathews, and reedists Dan Kozak and Jamison Williams (founder of Experimental Arts Union of Florida).
