Terry Medeiros

Terry Medeiros is a professional Jazz, Blues, Rock and Funk musician who performs at private social events, concerts, recording sessions nightclubs and restaurants throughout the Southern California area. Terry’s instrument is the guitar. He has recorded and performed with Jack Tempchin, Bobby McFerrin, Freddy Fender and Mary Wells among others. Terry’s favorite part of the musician’s life is the opportunity to perform for audiences in various venues. Also, composing new songs, recording and producing them is cool too.

Terry has played guitar on several recordings such as Lee Oskar”s “Before The Rain” and Steve Copeland and Raging Sun “Highway Bound.” He has collaborated with John Hammond, Tower Of Power, The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils and Tommy Sands among others. His recordings have been heard in airplay on satellite radio around the world.

Reviewers have commented favorably on Terry’s technical ability, musical interpretation and sense of rhythm. For instance, Robert Kinsler of the Orange County Register wrote that Terry’s guitar playing is able to “fuse artistic expression and virtuoso musicianship with every note played.” Leslie Connors from noted that Terry’s “mastery of the guitar displays an icy self-confidence that doesn’t need showing off.”

Terry is also a composer, arranger and producer of many recordings. “The Rhythm Meth’od”, “Forever More” and his latest “After Math” can be found and are distributed at Terry is a principle member, producer and song writer of “Steve Copeland and Raging Sun.” He performs regularly in an acoustic blues duo with the south bay shredder Pat “the Colonel” Hennessy and with the Chris Banta jazz trio throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

In addition to his busy composing, arranging, producing and performance schedule, Terry is in high demand as an educator. He has taught privately for over thirty years. He has maintained a teaching studio at Baxter Northup music is Sherman Oaks since 1999.

Influential mentors include Al Vescovo, Mike Saluzzi and Jeff Albrizzi. Al and Mike taught Terry the importance of musicianship and the art of listening to the music that you hear and play. Jeff taught Terry how to do Zen meditation, which opened the gateway to appreciating the moment as it comes into being.

Terry lives in Pasadena California with his beautiful wife of twenty-nine years. When Terry is not making music he loves to take long walks and cook tasty meals.
