The Wavos

Ride the wave, it's what you crave! Scramble up bits of The Killers, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, New Order, Beastie Boys, The Cars, Billy Idol, Devo and Depeche Mode, and you're getting a taste for The Wavos: rocktronic dance-pop with a chewy '80s alternawave center.

While the band has been busy amassing a following for their live '80s dance parties, they've continued working on new original songs and featuring them in their shows. By now, most of their audience has been requesting songs like Chit-Chat and I Must Be Crazy, and the newbie fans just know these songs are from a new wave band that they can't quite put a name to... The Wavos love to play all night, keeping their peeps on the dance floor for up to two and a half hours without a break, which prompts them to jokingly call themselves "the Grateful Dead of New Wave."

Says the Sun Times, "it's really great to see a band like The Wavos continuing the New Wave tradition by combining both the classic and modern forms and crafting them into their own form of alternative power pop." The Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star says their first release Wave Crazed EP "features seven delectably jagged tunes that are just as dance-inducing and original as the artists they [often] cover."
