Tiffany Pfeiffer

Stampede of Love, released 2.22.16, features Tiffany on vocals, Shane Hardiman on piano, Rob Morse on bass and Gabe Jarrett on drums, and brings renewed passion to known and lesser known classics by Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Johnny Mercer, Bobby Timmons, and Oscar Brown, Jr. Tiffany's first jazz recording, the 5-song EP is a departure from her original soul-infused, piano driven indie grooves and ballads, but a return home to a vocal style that has always felt her own. Recorded at Burlington, Vermont's Signal Kitchen in summer 2015, the energy is electric and was funded entirely by a Kickstarter campaign earlier that year.

Tiffany launched her music career in 2003, with a chance audition and subsequent sold-out performance at B.B. King Blues Club in NYC’s Times Square. The show, called “Soulfully Sinatra”, proved to herself and the world that despite her classical training she is indeed a jazz and soul singer. She formed The Discarnate Band that same year, starting out with standards á la Etta James and Billie Holiday, and later writing original soul/jazz/pop, with influences ranging from punk-rock to hip-hop, and recording her first EP, Amor Frio, in 2006-07, produced by Brooklyn dub legend Dr. Israel and featuring emcee Yah Supreme. In summer 2008, she relocated from Brooklyn to the Burlington, Vermont area where her band continues to play regionally with a rotating cast of acclaimed musicians.

In 2010, her jazz career had an accidental renaissance, due to a double-booked show that led to her sitting in with a local Vermont jazz band. Since then, she continues to perform with many of the northeast’s most innovative jazz musicians and has been featured annually at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, as well as taken the stage internationally in Bermuda, Canada, and most recently, Goa, India.

Singing since age 4, Tiffany grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where she sang in church, with her family’s gospel singing group, and with the Nebraska Children’s Chorus, with whom she competed and toured throughout the U.S. and Europe. She studied music and magazine journalism at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and currently teaches private voice and piano lessons in the Burlington, VT, area, is a certified advanced yoga instructor through Integral Yoga Institute, and is planning her next full-length original album with The Discarnate Band.
