Trippy Ja

Jacob Walter (born July 19, 1996), professionally known as Trippy Ja (or Trippy Ja Productions), is an American record producer, sound engineer, songwriter, and DJ. Raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Trippy Ja began to pursue a career in percussion and music production. Working with numerous local artists such as Cubbage and Werdplay, Trippy Ja was able to release multiple singles, grabbing the attention of big names within the music industry. Soon producing beats for artists of Sony Entertainment, Trippy Ja came in contact with Jban$2Turnt, MilanMakesBeats, Na$karMoney, 24hrs, and the members of YBN.

Early production success for Trippy Ja came in 2017. Originally playing drums and guitar for an alternative rock band across Pennsylvania and New York, Trippy had no Hip-hop/Rap background. However, after being accepted to York College, Trippy came in contact with Philly based rapper Werdplay. Feeding ideas back and forth, Trippy Ja and Werdplay were able to create new vibes by combining their home styles of rock and rap. Establishing a unique sound for themselves with the help of Cubbage, they were able to reach a new type of audience and break into the industry.

One year after Trippy Ja released his first official collaboration with Werdplay, he accumulated over a million streams across Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. Grabbing the attention of Lil Yatchy’s brother Jban$2Turnt, the single collaboration “Gang” released in 2018, exposing Trippy’s production skills to other big names within the industry. Following the release of “Gang”, Trippy came in contact with the members of YBN to release the hit single “Imma Ball”, featuring platinum artist YBN Nahmir. Currently trending with over a million streams in the first month of the new release, Trippy Ja plans to drop his first official album on all platforms mid 2019.
