Wahoo Ghost

Wahoo Ghost are a Sydney-based trio, rolling psychedelic, dusky blues, ambient and indie rock into one unique style. Drawing on a myriad of influences, whilst defying the limitations of genre themselves, Wahoo Ghost create their own distinctive sound which will may leave you unwittingly captivated. Beneath the dreamy vocals, atmospheric guitar and infectious beats, you may get the feeling there lies something much darker and sinister about Wahoo Ghost.

The band formed in July 2017 when singer/songwriter, Charli Rainford and guitarist, Rob Crow, discovered a mutual obsession for psychedelic and experimental music. The duo joined forces and spent a year honing their sound before enlisting drummer, Jarvis Woolley to complete the picture.

Charli Rainford (vocals, guitar) is an award-winning singer/songwriter from Sydney, known for her thought-provoking lyrics and discreetly dark subject matter. As a solo artist, Charli has performed at a range of venues around the globe, including New York, Portland and back to Sydney’s iconic Basement. In 2012 Charli released her debut album But the Blue under her real name, Sharlene Rainford.

Rob Crow (lead guitar), hailing from the UK, spent a good chunk of his youth playing in punk bands in London’s gritty underground music scene. Rob also brings to the band a wealth of experience as an audio engineer, producer, sound designer and DJ.

Jarvis Woolley (drums/percussion) of murky origin, began playing percussion at the age of 10. As a global recording and session musician, spanning genres from jazz to metal to dance music, he brings an invaluable diversity to the band.

The band released their first single, Feline Desire in 2018, and their debut album The Eighth Door is released in April 2019.
