Wizdom Phoenix

Born to Loving Mother and Evangelist, Machelle Slade in San Diego California, Wizdom Phoenix began to show an interest in music at the age of six years old. Her singing debut took place at the San Diego Meadow Brook Apartments Recreation Center in a talent show where she sang “My Guy", a 1964 number-one hit single recorded by Mary Wells, written and produced by Smokey Robinson of The Miracles for the Motown label. By the age of fourteen, Wizdom Phoenix was successfully  covering artists such as Ce Ce Winnans, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Under the direction and guidance of her Mother, Wizdom Phoenix began participating in church productions and performing at local Christian venues around town. From there Wizdom Phoenix began writing and singing backgrounds for various solo artists in the San Diego area which led her to Chico, CA where she recorded her first demo. In 2004, Wizdom phoenix moved to Las Vegas where she began singing background for Julius Williams. With this opportunity and a solid demo under her belt she gained the attention of Blakk Ragg Music Groups C.E.O., Mario Grubbs. Working closely  with the producer and his team,  perfecting her writing and recording skills, Wizdom Phoenix recorded her first self-titled EP. That EP soon gained the attention of Prince Linzy, the President and Owner of Money Active Records, a bicoastal  Independent Record Label out of Las Vegas, Nevada and Miami, Florida.

About Wizdom Phoenix
I​n 2009 Wizdom Phoenix signed with and became the First Lady of Money Active records. In 2010 the label did a soft release for the R&B  single "Roll  with me" and in 2011 the label released the Pop/R&B hit single titled for the album "Swaggalicious Misses". The album is dedicated to the platform for Women Empowerment and Domestic Violence. The Public Service Announcement preceding the album cut, "Fly", is a domestic violence awareness piece spoken by Ms. Kim Linzy,  The Musical Director of Contempoary Jazz Station KUNV 91.5.  In 2012, The Record Label did a video release of the single, "Don't want to let go", which is an R&B ballad written by the singer about a long distance relationship that she felt needed closure. From 2012 to 2014, Wizdom Phoenix expanded her repitoire by stepping back into the live band arena as a lead vocalist  with, "Enticement - The Livest Band in Vegas". For over a year and a half, the band made their home at Scoundrel's Pub, performed at various venues such as The Plaza Hotel and Casino and the family restaurant Meskerem all with 24 hour  round the clock radio promotion on Power 88.1 fm. In 2014, Wizdom was nominated for and won the category "Best Female R&B Vocalist"  in the House Radio Music Awards. That same year Wizdom Phoenix was diagnosed with Cancer and had to take a break from her music career however,  after a long year of healing, on May 5th 2015, Wizdom Phoenix returned to her career full throttle, by kicking off the "Swaggalicious Misses Tour" in Houston Texas. Later 2015, Wizdom was awarded the title " Ambassador of Peace"  by the Las Vegas Ward 5 Chamber of Commerce President, Katherine Duncan  and the International Educational Peace Center. In February of 2016 Wizdom signed with Emerald Dragon Entertainment and began working with Manager Eural Strickland III, to take her career from underground to mainstream and is now up for nomination in the 2016 BMA Awards for 'Best Hip Hop Female Vocalist". Wizdom is set to perform in this years Summer Jam in held in Oak Park Sacremento, California, is preparing to release her next hit single titled "Internet", with a follow up single titled "You got it",  a collaboration with  west coast bay area  artist Elevin and  Super Producer Money Tee of Dirty Royalty Music Group.
Wizdom Phoenix is a Veteran of the United States Navy, a Business Major and she is currently developing her Signature Collection Women's apparel line. When Wizdom Phoenix is not recording, performing or perfecting her craft, she volunteers her time to various churches and charity organizations like the Black Girls Rock 2016 Celebrity Charity Basketball Game at the Pearson Center Las Vegas. She hopes to use her platform to encourage and inspire others to make, and be the difference in their community.
