YUKO YOSHIOKA (b. 1967 Saitama, Japan) studied at the Musashino Academia Musicae with professors Sazare Fukumoto, Shoichi Yamada, Gerhard Berge, Max Martin-Stein, Erzsébet Tusa and Henriette Puig-Roget and graduated from the academia in 1990. She won 2nd prize at 1st All-Japan French Music Competition in 1992. She has performed in the international music festivals including Viktring Musikforum International Festival (Klagenfurt, Austria), Verbier Festival (Switzerland) and Chopin Academy (Poland). And she has given solo recitals and performed Concertos of Mozart, Poulenc and Chopin in Japan and Taiwan. In 2005, she visited Urmas Sisask in Jäneda, Estonia and took his special lecture. In the same year, She premiered Starry Sky Cycle “Southern Sky“ in Japan with Takahiro Akiba, pianist and Hiromichi Takagi, narration. She launched “Estonian Music project” with Takahiro Akiba and they have continued introducing Estonian music for more than 12 years. In 2011, she released the CD of Urmas Sisask’s Starry Sky Cycle “Northern Sky“. The performance was featured on Klassika Raadio in Estonia. In 2014, she has performed Sisask’s Starry Sky Cycle “Southern Sky“ with narration by the author in Eivere International Piano Festival (Estonia) . In 2015, she performed Japan premiere of Sisask’s two pieces in the concert "Urmas Sisask - Izumi Tateno and his friends" at Tokyo for Sisask's first visit to Japan. She has continued the concert series (80 times up to now) as a solist and accompanist at Yatsugatake Concert Hall (Nagano, Japan) since 2005 and has also continued her recital series "Mozart & Chopin" by Pleyel piano at Takasaki, Japan since 2015.
