ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is an anthology of musical ideas and experiences that I am pleased to share. "Mandoclectic" says it well and the pieces represent musical ideas I have been carrying around for the better part of my life and shared on this cd. You will hear, Bluegrass, Old-Timey, Gypsy Jazz, Celtic, and other pieces I call "Gravy". This is a listener's CD and I hope you enjoy

MANDOLECTIC - One of the finest Modern American Acoustic Music Releases this yea
MANDOCLECTIC
Billy Parker
Thirteen songs, all but four written by Billy Parker, mandolinist extraordinaire, comprise this exquisite new collection
of modern American acoustic music. Reminiscent of David Grisman’s early work, Jerry Douglas’s Transatlantic Sessions and
Strength In Numbers, MANDOCLECTIC kicks off with a Parker composed hornpipe with Ted Sistrunk on upright bass, Tyler James
on banjo, Nick Coventry on Fiddle and the amazing Peter McLaughlin on guitar.

Highlights include a blazing “Dixon Town” with some fine clawhammer banjo from Fred Newton, a Dawggrass style jazzy original
called “Silly Jilly,” one of my personal faves “Tug O’ War” and “Slip-Slidin’” featuring Michael Rolland on some killer guitar and fiddle.
Billy also shows off his vocal ability making several singing appearances on this CD as well as playing Mandolin, Octave Mandolin and Guitar.

The other musicians lending their enormous talents to this project are as follows:
Ted Sistrunk - Upright Bass
Tyler James - Banjo
Nick Coventry - Fiddle
Peter McLaughlin - Guitar
Michael Rolland - Fiddle and Guitar
Dan Meyer - Bass
Ron Rutowski - Fiddle and 5 String Viola
Matt Mitchell - Guitar
John Parker - Vocals
Evan Ward - Banjo
Ken Skaggs - Dobro
Alvin Blaine - Dobro
John Good - Flute and Vocals
Kevin King - Bodhran

With styles ranging from straight ahead bluegrass to jazz to Welsh to modern acoustic Billy offers up one of the finest acoustic music CDs this year.
Recorded at Tempest Recording, Playr Recording and A Writers Room by Clarke Rigsby, Kyle Harris and Duncan Stitt respectively.
Mastered by Nathan James at The Vault.
Produced by Billy and Brenda Parker for Mandobilly Records. www.mandobilly.com
