Adam Klein

Adam Klein is a singer/songwriter who plays country folk and Americana music out of Athens, GA. He has released four records: "Distant Music" (2006), "Western Tales & Trails" (2008), "Wounded Electric Youth" (2010), and, under his Malian name, Lassine Kouyate, "Dugu Wolo" (2012). Klein's music has garnered praise from Paste, No Depression, Georgia Music, Sing Out!, Flagpole, Stomp & Stammer, Maverick, and Connect Savannah Magazines, as well as on numerous Americana blogs worldwide (Americana UK, Roots Highway, CtrlAltCountry, etc.). "Wounded Electric Youth" and "Western Tales & Trails" debuted on the Euro Americana charts at #5 and #4, respectively. Klein has performed throughout the U.S. and toured in the UK, Ireland, and The Netherlands. He was an official performing artist at the 2008 Folk Alliance conference, and has shared the stage with such acts as Josh Ritter, Kevn Kinney, Okkervil River, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, Robert Ellis, Steep Canyon Rangers, Eilen Jewell, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Shawn Mullins, Fred Eaglesmith, Lucy Kaplansky, American Aquarium, Larkin Poe, and more. Klein performs with his band, Adam Klein & The Wild Fires, as well as solo and duo shows.

In early 2010 Klein traveled to Mali, West Africa, where he recorded a Malian 'Mande' music album, "Dugu Wolo", and produced a making-of-the-record documentary film. "Dugu Wolo" will be released in February 2012. The film is currently in the works and the trailer can be viewed on his website.
