Agron Belica

Agron Belica, a first-generation American of Albanian descent, accepted the responsibilities of life after his undisciplined teen years, spent mostly on the street with reckless gangbangers and brushes with the law. His about-face was total and he began to study inspirational works and comparative religion.
Formerly aimless, he set goals first in his religious studies that culminated with the publication in 2009 of his highly original re-evaluation of John the Baptist: The Crucifixion: Mistaken Identity? at the Harvard Book Store in Cambridge, MA. The work has raised hackles among traditionalists, both Christian and Muslim.

Throughout his life, Belica had always found consolation by singing. His voice was discovered by Bashir Hasan, an Afro-American member of his religious community. Belica soon was chosen to be the caller to prayer. His colleague, Joelah Carter out of Harlem, NY, said, “No one has called the prayer as good as Agron called it, even after years later when he departed from our community.”

With this background, it was an easy progression from religious research to the writing and performing of his own songs about his life experiences. His songs are both positive and meaningful.
This album includes seven of them.
