Allegretti Friedlander Malaby

DAMIAN ALLEGRETTI (born January 25, 1988 in Buenos Aires)

is a jazz drummer, percussionist and composer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He started playing drums at the age of 7... Based in Argentina, He studied drums with Pipi Piazzolla, Pepi Taveira, Eloy Michelini, Sergio Verdinelli, Sebastián Groshaus and Sebastián Hoyos. He studied musical composition with Guillermo Klein, and African percussion with Abdoulaye Badiané (Senegal). Besides that He took private lessons in New York with Gregory Hutchinson, Clarence Penn, Rodney Green, Barry Altschul, Mark Helias and John Wooton.

During the last years He has played with Tony Malaby, Ernesto Jodos, Marcelo Gutfraind, Hernan Merlo, Jerónimo Carmona, Enrique Norris, Juan Pablo Arredondo, Patricio Carpossi, Paula Shocron, Luis Nacht, Manuel Ochoa, Pablo Puntoriero, Carlos Alvarez… He was participant in Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, Mar del Plata International Jazz Festival, El Bolson International Jazz Festival, Ramallo Jazz Festival and Banfield Teatro Ensamble Jazz Festival.

In 2013 He traveled to New York and recorded, in Avatar Studios, his first work as a leader called “Stoddard Place” with Tony Malaby y Erik Friedlander.
