Allister Bradley

Award-winning Canadian singer, songwriter and composer Allister Bradley continues to woo audiences in his native land with the release of his third full-length album.

Bradley studied classical piano throughout his childhood, and though music was his first love, he followed his parent’s advice and pursued a “stable career” as a software developer in Waterloo, Ontario. He continued writing songs on the side and, after 15 years, decided to head into the recording studio and pursue his original passion.

He released his full-length debut album, No Games, in 2004 and its follow-up, Too, in 2008. Though both albums were released without much publicity, they continue to receive regular airplay to this day thanks to the strength of hit singles “If I Ever Cried”, “The Lights Are On”, “What A Day” and “Tip of my Tongue.”

Bradley's third album, Never Came Down, took him in a new direction, with a different writing style and with Bradley taking full control of the production and much of the engineering. The songs still ring true in the lives of his audience, with fans usually disagreeing on their favourite tracks. Whether it's the reflective "Stealing Back The Time", the confident "I Win", the wistful "Still Wild", or the intimate "If Only" (Bradley's answer to the Michael Buble song "Home", which beat him out of a Canadian Smooth Jazz Award in 2005), there's something for every music lover on this album.

His award-winning compositions have been compared to the works of Bruce Hornsby, Billy Joel, Elton John, James Taylor, Tom Cochrane and John Mayer. His piano-centric Jazz and Pop tunes speak to the human condition as he writes about the joys and struggles in people’s lives. “Sometimes a person doesn’t want to be cheered up,” he says, “but instead wants to know that somebody out there understands his or her pain.”

Bradley also loves sharing the craft of songwriting as a music educator, with both children and adult songwriters. “Music is fundamental to the human experience,” he says. “It promotes health and well-being, and helps our children become the next generation of thinkers and citizens.”

When he's not performing or mentoring, Allister can usually be found in his full-service recording facility, Tilted White Shed Music Services in Wellesley, Ontario.
