Ashley Alexander

Following the successful reception of her debut release, Ashley Alexander opened for Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan and Chuck Wicks as well as performed the National Anthem for NASCAR. This February 2015, Alexander will release her follow up with the fan-funded second album ‘With You’.

"I am so excited to share the album that many people helped make possible!” says Alexander of her second studio release, which she titled ‘With You’ as a dedication to her fans who funded the album through her successful Kickstarter campaign. The new album was produced by Alexander, along with fellow Berklee College of Music alums Miles Bergsma and Kyle Hoffmann at NRG Recording in Los Angeles, CA and all of the songs were co-written by Alexander with Miles Bergsma and Stephen Farr.

‘With You’ features Alexander’s long time band mates Miles Bergsma, Nate Laguzza, Elliot Schwartzman and Dustin Higgins, along with friends and special guest musicians Marty Rifkin, Vito Gutilla and Sarah Kovacs; who all boast previous work with well known artists such as Glen Campbell, Bruce Springsteen, Demi Lovato, Jewel, Jason Mraz, Engelbert Humperdinck, Casey Abrams, among many others.

"It was incredible and so much fun to have these talented musicians who are also friends play on my album.” Alexander says of the musicians. “This is very a special album for me because it was such a labor of love and hard work for everyone involved. Each song is a piece of me. I write about personal experiences and things that resonate close to my heart,” says Alexander “these songs were brought to life so beautifully by everyone who was apart of this project. And to have my fans be apart of the journey with me was amazing”.

Alexander says Miles Bergsma was the person who encouraged her to share her new songs and start saving money for the new album. “Before we started the campaign he and I would put any extra cash and money we made from shows in an envelope we called the “Ash Album Fund”. Eventually, I heard about fan-funded campaigns and decided to ask for the help of my fans to make this album with me” says Alexander. Her fans came through and together they made a heartfelt album of country songs with influences of folk, rock and blues.

Alexander is from Manchester, New Hampshire and is the daughter of parents who encouraged their children to follow their dreams. She fell in love with music at a very young age listening to artists like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion and watching movies like the Wizard of Oz. It wasn’t until she was a little older spending a summer with her Dad in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that she decided she wanted to have a career in music. “I saw Reba McEntire perform at the Wisconsin State Fair and I fell in love with her show and the stories in her songs. I knew I wanted to perform on stage just like her,” says Alexander, who began taking voice lessons and performing in school talent shows, musicals and vocal competitions shortly after. During middle school and high school she recorded and performed as the vocal duo “Fantasy” with her sister Arsha. Together they were recognized nationally receiving a Los Angeles Music Award and opening for many artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Christina Milian, J.C. Chasez, Nick Cannon, O-Town, Tito Puente Jr., and more.

After high school Alexander attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she further developed her craft and studied the business of music. And soon after began work recording again as a solo artist and released her debut album ‘Heaven On Earth’. Following the release of ‘Heaven On Earth’ she received significant recognition opening for Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan and Chuck Wicks, performing the National Anthem for a NASCAR Nationwide series race, appearing on morning news shows, playing the South by Southwest Music Festival and receiving radio airplay.

Ashley Alexander’s love of music and songs continues in ‘With You’ with strong and smooth vocals, engaging melodies, personal lyrics and fantastic instrumentation. “The amount of support and success of the campaign was so humbling. It was an experience I valued so deeply and I am excited for everyone to hear this album that we made together”, says Alexander.

‘With You’ is available on iTunes, Amazon, and on February 24th, 2015.
