Black Cat Habitat

Black Cat Habitat is a soulful and shamelessly melodic indie pop-rock band with a beautifully-worn 90's sensibility, led by singer-songwriter Rachel McCullough and backed by newcomer lead guitarist Neal Blumberg, bassist Tony Simpson and drummer Ron Kirkland. Rachel writes and performs bittersweet songs about longing, triumph, and finding your own habitat. Rachel's vocals have been described as "captivating" and "wickedly sweet" evoking comparisons ranging from Chrissy Hynde to Alanis Morissette to Gwen Stefani.

The June 2016 release of Jam the Signal launched with a CD Release Party at Havana, New Hope. Songs like the title track and “Ambushed” are made for a Jessica Jones like Marvel comic-inspired trailer. “Somebody Brought You Home” starts off as a quiet anthem for the lost. "Broke My Heart” and “The Big Mistake” finds Rachel's songwriting evolution squarely back in the arms of rock, with big vocals and poignant lyrics.
