Brenda Warren

Composer/Pianist Brenda Warren began playing piano at four years of age and enrolled in the Detroit Conservatory of Music at age eight. Brenda attended San Francisco State University to contiune studying music and recieved a Bachelor's Degree in music composition and theory. She began creating a musical comedy as her senior thesis and after graduation "Breakfast in Marin" was completed and nominated for a Cable Car Award for best original musical. While residing in the Bay Area and after graduation, Brenda performed her original solo piano compositions in local venues. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Brenda signed a recording contract with Priority Records and released her debut solo piano album "Childhood Dreams".

In 2005, Brends released her second solo piano album "As Years Go By" recorded at Warner Brothers Eastwood Scoring Stage Studio. Two of the pieces feature the Los Angeles based string quartet "The Section Quartet". Several of the pieces are included in two compilation albums "Baby Chill" and "Piano Zen". The music from both these solo piano albums are featured in the documentary films "Edens Lost and Found" and "The Grass is Greener" for PBS. Brenda also wrote part of the score for "The Spirit in Architecure" a documentary film about legendary architect John Lautner.

Primary among Brenda's influences are Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro and Keith Jarrett.
A third solo piano album "Beautiful Journey" was released in April 2018 featuring cellist Eugene Friesen, violinist Charlie Bisharat, bassists Tony Levin, Michael Manring, Tom Eaton, sax and wind synth by Premik Russell Tubbs, and Jill Haley, English horn. "Beautiful Journey" is produced by Grammy winning artist, producer and founder of Windham Hill Records, Will Ackerman.
