City School Music Project

Veteran blues guitarist and songwriter, David Mason was born in California. During his adolescent years, he often took leave from school to play sessions. Mason attended San Francisco State University as a Creative Arts major focusing on photography, while leading a four piece folk /rock band, Bounder Moon. The band recorded an EP album, playing extensively at San Francisco venues in the late 1970’s. Shortly after, he merged with legendary blues guitarist, Michael Bloomfield, and collaborated with his entourage. From 1978-1979 David re-located to Los Angeles and began working with Street Level, led by singer /songwriter Rick Lacovino, and played the LA circuit until the mid 1980’s. Since then, he has spent time writing and collaborating with other artists on projects. Most recently, he worked with Amanda Campbell to form the band, Zetland Streets. The group has played in several venues and released three original singles in 2013, co-written by Amanda Campbell and Lyndsey Northup and produced by Explosive Records producer, Pride Hutchison. David along with bassist, Doc Larson formed City School Music Project with Roxanne Beck on vocals. Today, they emphasize original songs in the rock-jazz genres, with layers of guitar and unique song arrangements.
