Cooper Getschal And The Beach Boomers

Cooper Getschal - Singer-Songwriter, Music Producer, Music Director, Soundtrack Composer, Record Company Owner

Projects which Cooper has composed and produced include the opening and closing themes for "Into The Night Starring Rick Dees" on the ABC Network. He was also Music Producer/ Director for ABC and performed with the ABC Orchestra on keyboards and percussion and as a background vocalist for all guest performers.

In addition Cooper wrote and produced the opening and closing themes for "Totally Hidden Video" on the FOX Network, and all of the music for the morning TV series "THE DR. BARBARA DE ANGELIS SHOW" on the CBS Network produced by the Kushner/Locke Company, Making Love Work for Inphomation Inc., Keep The Faith for TV First /Gospel Music Association, God Will Make A Way for Time Life Music and many other nationally syndicated and network projects.


Recently as Creative Director/ Artist in Residence at The Write Note Foundation in West Palm Beach, Florida. Responsibilities included curriculum development, all areas of instruction, engineering, production and project management. Helping kids learn through music by teaching creative expression using popular musical phrases and computers to create unique blocks of information. In terms of education, it is the intellectual equivalent of using 21st century children’s wooden blocks to build self-esteem, teach organization, encouraging three-dimensional thinking and the results of cause and effect. He has also taught at Berklee College of Music (1979-1982), The University of North Alabama (1995-1996) and Palm Beach Community College (2000-2001), lectured at the Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum in Jupiter, Florida.

Audio Engineering

An accomplished director, songwriter and producer, he also is a highly regarded audio engineer and former Instructor of Audio Recording at Berklee College of Music in Boston (where he received his Degree in Composition in 1975). He has composed, engineered and produced projects for CBS, NBC, and ABC Television, album projects, commercials, location recording for films, motion picture post-production, all mixing and technical positions of live concerts, and all aspects of recording, mixing and mastering. Cooper is fluent on both Mac and PC based digital audio recording systems and travels with his own 32 track digital audio recording system.

Multi-Platinum Songwriter

Cooper's discography includes covers by a variety of artists including Kenny G, Johnny Mathis, Kenneth & West, Kenny Rogers, The Spinners and The Trammps. Cooper's song "I'll Be Alright" appeared on Kenny G's multi-platinum studio album "Silhouette" which has sold over 6 million copies to date and continues to be popular in Europe and the Far East.

He collaborates with such well known writers as Jeff Silbar, Jeff Barry, Bob Welch, Kent Blazy, Jim Weatherly, James Patrick Dunn, John Ford Coley, Jason Blume, Harriet Schock, Van Dyke Parks, Denise Rich, John Bettis and John “JR” Robinson, all of whom, like Cooper himself, are multi-platinum award winners.

Cooper signed with Freddy DeMann for representation in the publishing community while living in Los Angeles in 1989. He is catalog includes cuts published by Polygram Music, Famous Music, Warner-Chappell Music, Getsch Y’all Songs, Cooper Cuts Music and Not For Money Music.

Midi Programming

The most recognized MIDI work for which Cooper has been credited was with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones where he provided his drum-programming services for five songs on Michael's "BAD" album including Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Dirty Diana, Speed Demon and Liberian Girl.

He has programmed everything from 30 second jingles to full length movie scores and stays current on all platforms and software.

Cooper is extremely fluent on a variety of different computer and MIDI systems as well as being a well-respected synthesizer programmer, designer and player who composes and produces in his own state of the art transportable 32 track digital multi-track recording facility, which includes an extensive collection of digital samplers, hard disk recorders and keyboards using the latest MIDI technology.

Past engagements with James Taylor, Dobie Gray, Richie Havens, Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, Kathy Mattea, James Ingram, James Brown, Mickey Gilley, Kenny Rogers, Lori Singer and others. Currently Cooper performs regularly at Prodigal’s CafÈ in Jupiter, Florida as well as continuous studio engagements throughout the United States and abroad.
Coop's concert tour is based on his " Inside The Mind Of A Songwriter" TV series.

National Vocalist

Cooper is a member of both SAG and AFTRA and is a well known commercial vocalist who has performed on many national jingles as a soloist and group singer for such products as Toyota Automobiles, Converse, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King and countless others.

Cooper has also sung song demos for almost every major publishing company in Los Angeles and Nashville. His client list for personalized vocal demos includes Bert Bacharach,
Jeff Barry, Jim Weatherly, Jeff Silbar as well as most of his other collaborators on their other projects as well. Cooper’s upcoming release GR8 F8TH is due to be released in early 2004.

Film/ TV producer

Cooper has consulted on many independent productions in almost every area of his expertise. Currently he is developing “Lost & Found” a Comedy/Variety late night entertainment television series.

Beta Tester and Technical Advisor

Cooper's knowledge of the technology of both Television and Audio includes operational experience on both analog and state of the art digital systems. He is certified on Both Macintosh and PC formats and is comfortable using most software for both platforms. He has helped several manufacturers including Yamaha, Roland and Alesis test and revise their new products as a beta specialist.

Internet Developer and Website Producer

Cooper quickly took an interest in the economic and research possibilities of the Internet. He has designed numerous websites for clients and friends and currently markets a variety of acquisitions thru Internet auctions and liquidation sites. Many years of photographic study has enabled him to merge the visual with the informative to build a successful and profitable enterprise. His current major project is SongJam™ an interactive web based music course for children and a new Internet music delivery system.
