Dave Caruso

Dave Caruso is a melodic pop indie songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist from Detroit, Michigan. His influences include: Elvis Costello, Andrew Gold, Neil Finn, Difford & Tilbrook, Del Amitri, Ben Folds, Brian Wilson, Todd Rundgren and The Beatles.

As the primary songwriter and front man fueling the power pop band "CARUSO," Dave and his three brothers, Mike, Joe and Rob performed for thousands of audiences in the U.S. and Canada. Under Dave's musical direction, their studio recordings and versatile live performances earned them a national corporate sponsorship with the prestigious Miller Rock Network / The Miller Brewing Company, and tracks on two nationally released RCA Records compilation albums. CARUSO's single, "London," appeared on the playlists of college radio stations all across the Midwest. CARUSO was nominated twice for The National Association of Campus Activities' Contemporary Music Award, while opening for artists like Joan Jett, UB40, Burton Cummings, John Cafferty, and Corey Hart.

Dave's distinctive songwriting, vocal, and piano and guitar work on his album "Elizabeth Parker" received glowing reviews from the pop music community. His 2014 album, "Cardboard Vegas Roundabout," is a self-produced tour de force of sparkling sunshine pop, jangly power pop and soulful ballads about identity, loss, home, friendship, hope, and the perils of social media. It's available at, iTunes, Amazon and more. Dave will be releasing a brand new album at the end of 2017.

Caruso continues to perform in live shows, including the International Pop Overthrow-Detroit festival. He's hosted a melodic pop radio show called "My WAVlength," which can be heard periodically on Pop That Goes Crunch radio. Dave has also created 3 eight-week songwriting courses, offered at Asher School in Southgate Michigan: "Songwriting Essentials," "Collaborative Songwriting" and "Creative Songwriting."

Dave's latest solo effort, Buddha Pesto Manifesto, is available at, CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon & major online outlets. Writing about Dave's first single, "Boomer, Jenna & Lennie," Melodic Pop Connoisseur, Alan Haber called it "a classic, ever-so-catchy Eric Carmen-styled number about negotiating life’s path and the ups and downs that are presented along the way. Light, percussive piano, electric guitar stabs and a sumptuous melody propel this song to the top of the pops."
