DEBORAH MAGONE has been crowned Rochester , NY’s “ Queen of Blues Rock” by Freetime Entertainment Magazine . A quadruple threat and an original artist on the House of Guitars / Mirror Records Label she’s currently receiving international exposure & airplay, stretching from the United States into Canada, Australia, France, the UK & Asia since her “ New Artist” (Alternate Realities) & “Best Video “, (“It’s All About Money”) consideration at the 54th & 55th GRAMMYS and consideration of her recorded performance of Bernie Taupins "Black On Blue" in the 57th Grammy Awards.
Deborah received Producers Choice Award for “Best Female Rock Musician 2012” at the 21st LA Music Awards held at the prestigious Avalon Theatre last fall. Founder & Executive Producer Al Bowman said that "Deborah Magone's sound & musical style represents the most authentic rock n' roll presentation our awards program has heard in the past two decades." She and her band were 1 of 7 bands picked from over 10,000 submissions to perform live at the event in Hollywood, California for luminaries such as Producer Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Heart, etc.) who was in attendance and said that “Deborah is an electrifying powerhouse that commands the stage” and has since expressed interest in producing Deborah’s next cd .
Deborah’s current cd “Alternate Realities” has been mentioned as “The best CD I have received in a long, long time. " – by Brother Wease, of 95.1FM The Brew, Clear Channel Radio in Roch., NY. It consists of twelve original songs she describes as “ Rock and Kick Your Ass Blues!” ©dm , a combination of her high-energy guitar playing, powerful vocals & heartfelt lyrics.   “…Magone rocked it hard. …… frying the frets of her guitar - and my soul - with a vicious slide.” - Frank DeBlase of CITY Magazine and 98.9 FM The Buzz Rochester,NY
Deborah grew up on the blues of Muddy Waters, Janis , & Robert Johnson, singing very early on and learning to accompany herself on the guitar at just 11 yrs old! “ Music kept me out of trouble. At 8yrs old I carried a small radio & listened to R&B & Rock music on Rochester radio every day. I came from a broken home & music took me out of all that. I was too shy to join the high school chorus and was more of an artistic introverted type. I wanted to play guitar but being a girl , I wasn't allowed. I would steal in to my brothers room when everyone was out, took his guitar & painstakingly taught myself on a guitar that was much too big for my little hands. Because of the strife at home, I got in to trouble from teenage alcoholism to other addictive behaviors, hanging out in bars at 14yrs young.” She was barely legal at 18 when she was in her first rock band, named "Wired" and was asked to open for Ozzy Osbourne . But the damage was done .
“At the age of 23 I developed severe ulcerative colitis which actually killed me.  I was revived and while I was fighting for my life in that hospital I told myself, & the Universe, that I had no intentions of leaving. I held on tight. I thought of the current album project with Capitol records & Janice Marie Johnson that was waiting for me back in Los Angeles. I thought of my karate students, music students, my family, my Great Aunt & my Mom who sat at my bedside every day for weeks in that hospital. I refused to give up, failure was not an option.”
Deborah’s original tunes are reminiscent of the blues rock of Humble Pie, & Zeppelin. Reviews & on-air interviews have praised this stunning blues rock dynamo with comparisons to the greats, with comments such as "Janis Joplin with a guitar" and "Bonnie Raitt with balls.”
A onetime student of Rochester, NY jazz guitar legend Richard "Dick" Longale ,and the only female member of his famous "Wailing Wall", Deborah Magone has jammed with some of the best between New York & California such as Peter Frampton , Iron Butterfly, Talas, Dakota, Shooting Star, JJ Bad Boy Jones , The Campbell Brothers Tammy Diddley (daughter of Bo) , GRAMMY winner Janice Marie Johnson ( A Taste of Honey), Chris & Joe Beard , Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix), & Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge) among others. She’s played in venues too numerous to list, including a six month stint at the House of Blues (on the Disney lot in Anaheim, CA with 2 kids in tow!).
Deborah whether flying solo or with her band, rocks hard loving every minute of it - and it shows. Magone’s driving mission is to stir your emotions, to let you feel something irresistibly powerful, something that will most definitely rock you to the core of your soul!
