Dimitri Bonani was born in Parma, Italy, on 11th December 1972.
He discovered classical music at the age of 11, studying organ at the private school LIRA under the guidance of his teacher Reiko Nakaja, but the real shock for rock music was at age of 15, when he first listened to the album "The Final Countdown" by the Swedish rock band Europe which remains literally stunned by that perfect voice and that wonderful style which magnificently combined hardness and melody.
From that moment born also his passion for writing songs, of which the earliest are "Shadow In The Night" and "The Long War", both present in his solo album, the latter being inspired by the Europe’s hit.
Then he began to study singing, trying to acquire the methods of the great pop-rock vocalists in vogue at that time.
So, at the age of 17 he forms his first real band: the Warriors, in which he was lead singer.
This band was founded with his childhood friend Gabriele Volta, a very talented guitarist with whom he co-wrote several songs that he still performs.
There was a great harmony in the band, and in addition to songs written by them, they also played cover versions of Kiss and Helloween; Dimitri also had to play bass guitar until they found a bass guitarist.
After other experiences with various bands not very rewarding, he created in 2002 with his guitarist friend Khaled Abbas, the first band with the name "Powerwings."
The band mainly played cover versions of Yngwie Malmsteen’s songs and Dimitri was the lead singer and keyboardist.
After a some years the band split up and Dimitri re-formed the Powerwings with the drummer Alberto Clerici, the bassist Christian Bolzoni and the guitarist Alessandro Bernazzoli.
This was Dimitri’s last real coverband and when they split up, he started working hard on his solo project; the result is the fruit of a hard production work which lasted 2 years.

This project is called "The Long War" and it’s the result of a laborious production work lasted two years and inspired by the various bands that have most influenced him over the years (such as Europe, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dokken, Whitesnake, Dare, Scorpions and many others).
The album received appreciations all over the world (Europe, South America, United States, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, etc. ..) making overcome the expectations of the artist for this first debut album.
For the making of this album was particularly appreciated the contribution of the master Leonardo Morini regarding the arrangements, which had also actively collaborated with the band in the role of keyboardist and backing vocalist.
Apart from him had also collaborated Antonio Pollina on bass, Richard Lodi on drums and Simone Veneri on guitar.
Always in this album there have also been prestigious collaborations such as the likes of the very good baroque soprano Francesca Cassinari and tenor Antonio Vezzani.

In April 2013 he releases his second album "Once Upon A Long Ago", always characterized by melodic atmospheres and sound "hard rock" typical of the 80s and on this occasion there was also the collaboration of Matteo Bosi on cello.
In the album are present new compositions and songs written during the course of his musical career, including three songs that he had written in the late '80s with the guitarist of his old band Gabriele Volta.
Recordings and mastering were done in the same studios of the previous album and the artist wanted on this occasion put special care in the recording and production of the vocals.
The formation of the band on this occasion once again use of the valuable collaboration of master Leonardo Morini on keyboards and it sees come back again also the virtuous guitarist Alessandro Bernazzoli, in addition to drummer Nicola Corradi coming from Domina Noctis and bassist Bernard Boggia founder of Dark Lunacy.
