Fish Street Klezmer

Fish Street Klezmer, Ken Richmond and Shira Shazeer's klezmer and Yiddish song duo, has been performing since 2000. Named after Shira's grandmother Alta Frohman's street in Bedzin, Poland, which they visited in 2000, the band aims to preserve and propagate Yiddish culture and contribute new arrangements and compositions. By day, Ken Richmond is the Cantor and Family Educator of Temple Israel, in Natick, MA, and Rabbi Shira Shazeer is the Founder and Director of the Jewish Birth Network. They are raising their two boys with Yiddish as their first language.
