Girl Named T

Girl Named T was born and raised in Berkeley California, home of university professors and 60's burnout relics, but now lives in San Francisco, where if you get tired of walking up the hills you can just lean up against them. She had been a normal kid until her 13th birthday, when she received a life-changing gift: Weezer's eponymous "Blue Album." She listened to the album that day, and knew at once that life would never be the same.

Between then and now, the newly rock 'n' roll obsessed T learned (often teaching herself) drums, guitar, bass, keys and how to sing. Influenced by The Beatles, Pixies, The Beach Boys, X, Smokey Robinson, Neil Young, Nirvana, Carol King and a stable of other artists, T began writing and recording her own material to try and capture the timeless songwriting that had entranced her to music in the first place.

Her first 5-song EP was released at the age of 17 under the name "SpaceBag," with T on drums, guitars and vocals (as well as a cellphone keypad solo). After graduating from Berkeley High, she went on the road through Europe as a touring bass player. Now just shy of her 20th birthday, she is releasing a full-length album of material inspired by and written about her experience abroad. The album, Hey Liebe, is about falling in love with far away places, finding demons behind pretty faces, and growing up with no direction. It is the latest chapter in the story of a Girl Named T.
