Jeffrey Dicera

Jeffrey DiCera, out of southern CT, is a long-time vocalist who plays eleven instruments, most notably drums, keyboards, bass and guitar. He is best known in New England as the drummer for the Paul McCartney tribute band, One Sweet Dream. Born into a musical family, Jeffrey has been a songwriter since childhood, writing, recording, and producing almost all of his material, as well as many covers. He would often spend nights singing and playing an extreme variety of songs, so widely varied, as if to turn the dial on the radio or mix and match on a tape.
He studied music performance and theory in select high school projects and ECA. (Educational Center For the Arts in New Haven, CT) Jeffrey then graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in music performance from Western Connecticut State University. While studying percussion and theatre arts, Jeffrey participated in the opera ensemble, where he understudied the lead role in Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore. Over the years, Jeffrey has performed with several legendary musicians and personal heroes, including Tony Sheridan, (solo artist best known for fronting The Beatles before their fame) Billy Preston, Denny Laine, (Paul McCartney and Wings/ Moody Blues) Greg Hawkes, (The Cars) Todd Rundgren, and Peter Buck. (R.E.M.)
Currently, Jeffrey is promoting his new debut CD release, “A Thread of Hope.” Almost spontaneously titled, it has become highly prophetic in its meaning and importance to each song on the album. Every song was the result of sudden major changes in his life that all occurred within 2010. Since then, he’s featured these songs in various solo acts, while also enjoying the avid storytelling that comes about. He hopes that it brings people to notice something that was left in the past or usually taken for granted. As Jeffrey continues to perform songs from his extensive catalog, leaping between genres and time periods, one thing that should ring clear is his shear love for music and bringing people together with something a little less expected.
