Jullian James

At 17 years old, Jullian James responded to an ad in the newspaper for Fred Astaire Dance Studio seeking a dance instructor. With no prior experience, he got the job. Consistent with his passionate character, Jullian emerged as one of the youngest top male dance teachers in the nation, traveling the country to compete at the professional level. As his talent continued to grow and evolve, Jullian began choreographing, writing and directing shows and showcases for multiple venues, working with some of the industries best.
Jullian’s journey into music was one of self-discovery. As someone who always wrote music and poetry, he recognized that dancing wasn’t fulfilling him and that he could express himself in ways beyond just the movement of his feet. In embracing his uniqueness and individuality, Jullian became inspired by the power of music and vowed to utilize it as a tool to amplify the beauty in others.
Jullian later moved to New York City where he began working with producer Nathanael Nicol to compose his album, “From My Integrated Soul,”. An ode to artists he grew up admiring like Sam Cooke, Howling Wolf, B.B King and Etta James, the Rhythm & Blues record tells a story with every track. Jullian's music captures that old soul age but with a fresh updated twist.
The most beautiful part about Jullian James as an artist is that he is brutally honest and true to himself. He acknowledges everyone's ability to change the path of their lives. His music speaks to listeners as it celebrates what makes us human. “....... I will try to amplify the beauty in others, the special souls that live in between the beats of music, the ones that struggle to find their place. I believe the ones that struggle to find their place, to find where they belong, deserve to be recognized and that they are in this world to make their own space and influence, there own little nook in this life.”
