Kenny Owens

Singer/Songwriter, Americana Troubadour Kenny Owens has released his debut album "Walking In St. James". A fresh sounding musical endeavor chock full of catchy melodies, vintage guitars and swirling Leslies. Fans of Hippie Country, British Invasion, Greenwich Village Folk and Texas Poets will enjoy this brand new CD. Originally from the East Coast, Kenny always had song writing in his heart but focused mainly on playing bass sharing the stage with a host of stellar musicians such as Buddy Miller, Leroy Parnell, John Belushi and the Bellamy Brothers at New York's Lone Star Cafe. Ready for a change in scenery and an opportunity for session work, Kenny took an offer to drive south to play on an album in exchange for 6 months free rent in East Nashville. With the love and support of his family he decided to pack up and make Hendersonville, TN his permanent home. After years of backing up stars such as the Hagar twins, MC Potts and Bill Monroe (on his last New Years Eve on earth) and Joining Felix Wiley (the free wheelin' acoustic/electric band with great songs and unabashed delivery), he decided to put down his trusty Fender bass, pick up his Gibson Six String and get back to writing songs. Like many Americans Kenny fell upon "hard times" and took a gig working in a mess of a music store down town. While sorting equipment and CDs of fellow dreamers his mind would be full of melodies and lyrics. Spending months of Saturdays he would travel up to Springfield TN to record tracks with friends and studio hands. The end result being a well produced album for music lovers young and old.
