Every once and a while, an artist comes along with that certain something. A look, a style, a sound…that one thing that sets him apart from the rest of the pack… You may not know it until you hear it, but when you do it’s crystal clear. One listen to Ki-mani’s most recent effort and you’ll know that this is one of those moments. Representing the perfect balance of rough and smooth, this emerging young talent is staking his claim on an R&B market that is looking for a reason to cheer again.

Influenced by the likes of Al Green and Marvin Gaye, Ki-mani puts his songwriting skills on display with concepts that are heavy with sexual overtones, but with a touch of romance on the side. Ki-mani gives it to you straight, with no chaser. Expressing his life’s experiences in a way that connects with you on an emotional level, Ki-mani delivers the goods, bringing about hit after hit.

Raised in the rough North East section of D.C., in the shadow of the nation’s Capitol, Ki-Mani began singing at the age of 10. Inheriting his love of music from his mother, an excellent vocalist in her own right; Ki-mani honed his skills in the church. However, after losing his mother to a drug overdose, Ki-Mani found solace in singing the songs she sung to him as a child to fill the void created by her loss. He now puts that same passion into his work in the studio.

By age seventeen, Ki-Mani was performing at various shows and events, and eventually caught the attention of Hipnotic/ Polygram Records, who signed him to his first record deal. This led to opportunities to perform alongside Usher, 50 Cent, Fabolous, as well as write for major artists like Mario and Brandy.

His early material introduced him as the ladies man with the bad boy attitude. Laden with sensual lyrics and smooth melodies, his music brought him fans from all parts of the urban experience. Ki-Mani is now focused on producing his debut CD, “I Stand Alone”; teaming with producer Tony Hemmings (formerly of Darkchild Productions) and several other hot young producers. His debut features love, life, sex, and of course a few “club bangers”; demonstrating the many different sides of Ki-Mani.
Using his own brand of “Spit Flow”, Ki-Mani has just the right formula to keep the fellas nodding their heads and the women yearning for more. Songs like“Get It” featuring Lil Wayne, and the buzz track “Miss Everything” (with video by Bille Woodruff ), prove this hot boy has the diversity and creativity to take it to the next level.

Ki-Mani’s most recent accomplishments include performing on BET’s 106 & Park, and having his song “Perfect 1” featured on the hit reality series “Committed:The Christies”. Hard working, motivated and driven to perfect his craft, Ki-Mani is not letting anything or anyone stand in his way on the road to success. In his words, “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up and keep going…” Ki-Mani’s talent goes way beyond the surface level. He works hard to satisfy, giving 110% of himself, so everyone can get something they can feel.
