Megalodon

Formed in the summer of 2009, Megalodon was created as a composers' collective. Each member brings a unique perspective and compositional style with ranging influences including: classical, jazz, rock, metal, hip hop, drum and bass, video game, and world music. On a spiritual level, Megalodon's members complete the elements of the Zodiac: Water, Air, Earth and Fire, creating a spiritual oneness to the music.

Greg Johnson is quickly becoming known as a unique rising voice in the international jazz community. His distinct sound on the saxophone and unique approach to composition have, for the most part, helped him surmount genre and label in young music community. Charlie Heim’s unique style on the drum set has been heard throughout the northeast, where he has performed and recorded with various groups including The March Hare, Mountain Man, and Prophecies of War. Scott Kruser is an alum of the University of Northern Colorado. As an in demand guitarist, he played throughout Colorado nightly. Scott resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is pursuing his masters degree as a Teaching Assistant and member of the prestigious UNT One O'clock Lab Band.

Michael Dougherty, a graduate of Penn State has degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Besides being a really smart and nice guy, he is a first call bassist across many genres of music. Michael was a staple of the Central Pennsylvanian music scene for many years in the areas of Jazz, Rock, Africana, and Funk. Michael is currently a resident of Portland.

Erek Kapusta, keyboardist, is an in-demand pianist and keyboardist in the Central Pennsylvania area. Known for his spontaneous use of rhythm, instantaneous re-harmonizations of any jazz standard and crafty compositions, Kapusta is a valuable musician across all genres. He can also be seen with DeathSquad 5000.
