OilCan Drive

OilCan Drive is the story of an outlaw rock and roll band traveling through the futuristic wastelands of America in a stolen airship. With an ex-hockey player as its lead singer, a former soldier playing lead guitar, a runaway girl on drums, and a giant gorilla playing bass guitar; it's a post-apocalyptic Western with a rock and roll soundtrack. It's Josie and the Pussycats meets Joss Whedon's Firefly. It's the story of a band that is, literally, on the run.

Created in 2001 by illustrator Sean Tiffany, OilCan Drive began as a comic book idea and quickly grew into a multimedia adventure. Creating various stories over the years OilCan Drive made their web-comic debut in April of 2011 and new stories began running on the site in May of 2013.

Music quickly followed the cartoon band's illustrations and OilCan Drive's cover of Bob Dylan's "When I Paint My Masterpiece" was played on Bob Reitman's WUWM "It's Alright Ma, It's Only Music" Milwaukee radio show sandwiched between artists Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Elvis, and The Ramones in 2010. Bob described the band as “really good” and “a pleasure to discover.”

With a love of bands like The Who, Nirvana, Blink 182, Green Day, and Bob Dylan it was only a matter of time before the cartoon band hunkered down and recorded albums of their own.

Welcome to the beginning of the next stage of the adventure...
