An explosive celebration of melody, rhythm and soul, ORIENTE was formed in the ‘90s by Cuban guitarist and composer Eddy Balzola. The sound is a funky fusion of blues and jazz seasoned with strong Afro-Cuban & Caribbean rhythms with Eddy's soulful guitar phrasing and poetic lyrics. ORIENTE had their official debut in New Orleans at the premier Jazz club, Snug Harbor, where they created a buzz with their hard-driving yet melodic Afro-Cuban innovations. Since then they've played from the shores of Key West and Miami, the eastern seaboard to the White Mountains of Arizona, to the Caribbean, and Europe from London to Scandinavia.

The band's A-list lineup includes Yoel Del Sol (Cuba) on multi-percussion, Stuart King (TN) on trumpet, William Paredes (Cuba) on trombone, Dony Felix (Haiti) on bass, and Orlando Machado (Cuba) or Rey Monroig (P.R.) sharing trap drums. The band's wide repertoire of powerful original tunes plus choice popular music performed in their signature style allow them to maintain a diverse schedule. ORIENTE has been featured on TV including the Food Network Live with Chef Bobby Flay, and on PBS on “Music Voyager” seen worldwide. They keep a steady schedule of festivals, clubs, casinos and events.
