Although Pinnacle have concentrated on writing material for CDs, they have performed to enthusiastic crowds at NEARfest After-Party (Bethlehem, PA), ProgDay (Chapel Hill, NC), the Sterling Hotel (Allentown, PA), Our Beer Bellys (Bethlehem, PA), Brenda & Jerry's (Bath, PA), and ProgOctoberfest (Saratoga, NY). They backed Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis, Tears for Fears, Spocks Beard, Big Big Train, Mike Keneally Band) at a solo concert, opened for the legendary Spocks Beard at The Forum Theater, and opened for Riverside at the Crossroads Theater. Pinnacle has played several shows for New Jersey Proghouse as headliners, including their CD release party for the "Meld" album. "A Blueprint for Chaos" was released at NEARfest and the band's performance at the NEARfest After-Party was the only CD Release Party officially sanctioned by NEARfest.

Pinnacle's fourth album, "To Whoever You Are Now" comes on the heels of their performance of Marillion's classic album, "Misplaced Childhood" in its entirety. "To Whoever You Are Now" is the next evolution of Pinnacle's songwriting and recording process. The songs are shorter, overall, but no less carefully crafted, complex, and demanding to play.

The band's musical goal is to write accessible songs that are still firmly rooted in the best Progressive Rock traditions. The original three members have influences which are wildly different in most cases, but with certain obvious overlaps.

Pinnacle's roots go back to 1997 when Karl Eisenhart was playing a job with his acoustic duo, Red, and spotted Greg Jones in the audience. Greg was wearing a Steve Morse tee shirt and Karl instantly knew he had found a kindred spirit.

Karl and Greg soon started playing together, going through a variety of other band members in the process. Under the name Dread Pirate Roberts and later as Landslide, they played a few jobs around town, but players moved on and they were searching for that magical third person to complete the band. Bill Fox, known by Karl for a while, was finally asked to join.

After one rehearsal together, it was obvious that the combination was a good one. Everyone involved was pulling in the same direction. They set to work learning Progressive and Classic Rock covers by bands such as Yes, Rush, Jethro Tull and The Police to both get some local gigs and gain some experience playing together. This also allowed them to fully explore just how many different things were musically possible in a three-piece band.

After nearly eight years as a power trio, the band added a fourth member, Matt Francisco, in the beginning of 2010. Matt is a long-time friend of Karl's from childhood. This is not the first band they've been in together. Matt brings mad vocal and keyboard skills to the mix. His addition will enable the band to add more power and texture to the Pinnacle sound. As a trio, Pinnacle used technology to multiply their effectiveness without resorting to backing tracks. In concert, everything was played live. Only short samples were triggered when an effect was desired. This won't change with Matt in the band. Matt's considerable keyboard chops will continue to keep the playing live and the technology in the background.

Greg Jones favors bands like King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Spock's Beard. Bill Fox comes to the band from a varied background of '60s pop, electronic and ambient music, folk, and classical. His top picks are The Beatles, Toy Matinee, Klaatu, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, and The Vinyl Kings. Karl Eisenhart brings a guitar-oriented influence to the band, heavily influenced by Rush and the Steve Morse Band, and loves a well-crafted pop song. Seal, Joe Jackson, Til' Tuesday, Marillion, and Jethro Tull have influenced Karl. Matt grew up listening to classic rock from the '60s and '70s along with the progressive styles of Yes, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd. The piano-driven compositions of Elton John, the orchestral based work of ELP, and lyric-centric creations of Marillion and Bruce Springsteen are influences. Matt also loves a well-written pop tune if the beat is heavy and the riff is interesting.
