Robyn Landis

A soulful, transparent and unpretentious performer, Robyn’s literacy dates back to childhood—a published poet and grade-school spelling bee champ, she published two bestselling books in her 20s. When she turned to music, her writing gifts translated naturally; she’s garnered over 55 honors since 2005, including first place in Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, first place at Wildflower! Festival in Dallas, and Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. She was a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist and has been an official showcasing artist at Folk Alliance International and regional conferences. She has toured extensively, co-written and shared stages with many fine writers and musicians, and taught songwriting at festival workshops. Her second CD Many Moons (2009) was one of the most-played records on folk radio the year it was released, and her third CD Waterproof (2014) was produced by John Jennings (Mary-Chapin Carpenter). Born in Brooklyn, she now lives in Tucson, AZ and is a passionate activist and health advocate as well as songwriter.

“Robyn is a true musician and a fine member of the ‘three chords and the truth’ club." ~ JIMMY LAFAVE

“Robyn Landis is the real deal, and I’m thrilled to be singing back-up for her on her new CD Waterproof.” ~ CHRISTINE LAVIN

“I’m not amazed that you have won so many awards...your songwriting is reminiscent of some of the great folk/rock/pop songs of the 60s, most particularly Paul Simon. You share the same sensibilities. If he was a woman he probably would have been born as you.”
~ John Coinman, songwriter / Kevin Costner’s Modern West Band
