Srivani Jade

Srivani Jade started singing on stage at the age of four, and broadcasting on national radio shortly after. She started studying classical music in her childhood - first from her father Bhavani Prasad Jade and uncle Raghavendra Tilwalli - and later with her first Khayal teacher Dr. Sharad Gadre (Seattle) and finally, her Guru, Pt. Parameshwar Hegde (Bengaluru).

Today, she is an exponent of the Kirana style of Khayal (North Indian classical genre of Raga music), Thumri (light classical genre of romantic/lyrical music) and Bhajans (devotional music of the Bhakti tradition). Her sparkling style of presentation and story-telling on stage bring a centuries old style alive to new audiences around the world.

She has 6 solo (self-composed) albums to her credit, and has performed widely in North America and India - in venues such as Meany Hall (Seattle), Chowdiah Hall (Bengaluru) and major festivals such as Earshot Jazz, Devnandan Ubhayaker, and Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav.

Her music is a fine blend of tradition and her own creative exploration of the Raga. She believes in the power of the individual swar and shruti (note and perfect intonation) in reaching the listener's heart and uplifting the soul.
